I am interested in the collision of elements drawn from history, science, technology, pop culture, design and nature and strive to combine their contradictory forms and meanings into a dynamic yet cohesive whole. I look for that asymmetrical point of balance where emotion and form, structure and chaos meet, mingle and merge. I use the human figure with high key color and ambiguous space searching for modern day myth and metaphor. I am working towards a synthesis between process and inspiration, work and insight. Although my formal education focused on non-traditional methods and media, I find painting the most vital, adaptive and inclusive visual art form.
